Port Grimaud street scene. It was all quiet out of season.

Port Grimaud from the church tower looking north east.

Port Grimaud market square and cafés where we enjoyed excellent crèpes.  Several areas of the town are closed off to the public as the houses are owned by the rich and famous.

The scent from this wisteria in Grimaud village was amazing.

Looking back at Port Grimaud from the top of the castle in Grimaud village. The town on the far side of the bay is St. Tropez.

Another scene from Grimaud village. It was a beautiful medieval town to walk around.

Grimaud village is full of ancient steps and passageways

Grimaud village—if it wasn’t steps it was slopes !

Castellane, in northern Provence, an overnight stop on our journey north into the Alps. Notice the church built on the top of the rock. This was a lovely campsite in the back garden of a large house!  All very laid back and relaxing.

Lunch stop view on our journey towards Grenoble. We followed the Route Napolean (N85) and the scenery was spectacular throughout but not without some causes for concern.  We came upon a huge, boulder at the roadside which was about the same size as Priscilla. It had just tumbled down the mountain and left a huge dent in the road surface. It must have weighed over 20 tons, not nice if it landed on your roof!  Nearer Grenoble, dropping into Vizelle was a long, long, very steep descent where trucks and coaches were banned. We had to hold Priscilla in 2nd gear to stop her running away with us!

We arrived at Venosc (just below Les Deux Alpes) in brilliant sunshine but the next morning……….!   By the way, this is a colour photograph.
