The journey from Seefeld took us through beautiful scenery and around the north side of the Zugspitze , which is Germany’s highest mountain.  The site at Brunnen was right beside a beautiful lake, The Frogensee.  The facilities were superb but the site was a little ‘cosy’ without much space between pitches.

Nearby is the town of Fussen which is a really, lovely old Bavarian town. Just a couple of kilometres to the south is the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein, worthy of a visit. The classical photos of the castle make it look to be a lot larger than it actually is. Inside the décor is quite mind blowing but unfortunately no photography was permitted.

After leaving Sexten we travelled back into Austria and to Seefeld in the Tirol.  We successfully managed to avoid taking any toll routes and reached Seefeld without our ‘GO Box’ being charged any further.

Seefeld campsite was beautiful and we wished we were due to stop over longer.  We watched a local wedding of a Seefeld Plant Hire boss.   The wedding procession comprised all of his trucks and heavy plant.  During the proceedings we were bought a beer by one of the German campers.  It turned out his English was excellent and we spent an enjoyable early evening with him and his wife and two of the site residents, Norbert and Roland.

Well, you have to look at something whilst you enjoy your morning coffee and cake!

High mountain track above the Fischliental just around the corner from Sexten.  It was a very long way down! George did this one on his own.

Seefeld—a picturesque campsite with restaurant and bar

Every garden in the town was alive with colour and even the trees looked good

Beneath the Europa Bridge— Brenner Pass

The Bride and Groom in the bucket of the right JCB are trying to pick up the ring with a long cane from the top of the bucket on the left. The vehicles in the background are part of his fleet and made up the wedding procession as they left.

Their carriage awaits!

The Bride and Groom depart being serenaded by the girl with her back to the camera and an accordion player who is hidden behind the girl.

The fleet of heavy plant followed them and caused traffic chaos.

Neuschwanstein, nr. Fussen. The fairytale castle

The Alpensee as seen from Neuschwanstein castle. The castle on the right is also quite spectacular.
